“Pale garnet hue. I think it’s charming and cheery. It’s a very fresh feeling, breezy light red, but still holds structure and shape, which is in the mind’s eye of winemaker Tom Belford. You’ll get scents of faint cherry, light raspberry, a whiff of tomato and bay leaf, just the faintest old spice cupboard note too. Succulent, crisp texture, flighty red cherry flavours, a splash of blood orange, a touch of bitterness in the best possible way and a long trail of cool, refreshing acidity follows. It’s no rosé but it’s a couple of evolutionary steps up the adaptation curve. This is excellent to drink, vibrant and bright, shapely and, curiously, quite refined in its feel. A great expression of Yarra red wine here. So worthy.” – Mike Bennie
