Woodlands Sits Atop First & Second Growths of Bordeaux: Cape Mentelle Cabernet Tasting

Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon continues to represent some of the best value on the planet for the variety.  If only Margaret River was instead called ‘Napa Valley’ or even ‘Bolgheri’ the wines would find much more demand.  Lucky though for those that are in the know while others continue to buy on blind loyalty.

The annual Cape Mentelle blind tasting of Cabernet was held and Woodlands Cabernet Sauvginon garnered international acclaim, namely by James Suckling, Huon Hooke and Nick Stock.  They had pegged Woodlands as the standout of the bunch beating the likes of Châteaus Haut-Brion, Leoville-las-Cases, and Palmer along with California and Italian icons Ridge Montebello, Far Niente, and Sassicaia.
